Privacy Policy — Meow DB
Last updated: September 1, 2025
Meow DB (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a small blog about mobile games. We don’t run user accounts or sell products. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. Questions? meowdbsite @ gmail.com.
1. What we collect
-
Information you send us: If you email us or submit a form, we receive your message and email address.
-
Information collected automatically: IP address, browser/user-agent, pages viewed, referrer, timestamps, approximate location inferred from IP (to comply with regional consent rules), cookies or similar identifiers.
-
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of data.
2. Cookies, consent & “Manage cookies”
In the EEA/UK/Switzerland we use NitroPay’s IAB-registered CMP to request and record consent. You can reopen the banner any time via our “Manage cookies” link in the footer (this is the CMP resurfacing control). Outside those regions the CMP may be inactive; you can still adjust browser cookie settings.
Cookie categories we use
-
Strictly necessary (essential functionality, consent storage, security).
-
Analytics (Google Analytics) — only if permitted by your settings/region.
-
Advertising (NitroPay and demand partners) — for ad delivery, measurement, and, where allowed, personalization.
3. Advertising (NitroPay)
We show ads via NitroPay. Partners may read/set cookies and use identifiers to deliver, limit, and measure ads and, where permitted, personalize them. In GDPR regions, this depends on your CMP choices. In certain U.S. states (e.g., California), some advertising may be considered “sharing” (see §9).
4. Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic and improve content. We apply Consent Mode so analytics runs in a consent-aware way; where consent is not granted, Google limits data collection. You can adjust this via Manage cookies or your browser.
5. How we use information
-
Operate and secure the site (fraud/abuse prevention, debugging).
-
Measure performance and improve content.
-
Show and measure advertising consistent with your choices.
-
Respond to messages you send us.
-
Comply with legal obligations.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
We rely on consent for non-essential cookies (analytics/ads), legitimate interests for essential operations and security, and legal obligation where applicable. You can withdraw consent anytime via Manage cookies (this won’t affect prior lawful processing).
7. Sharing & processors
We share data with service providers who process it for us:
-
Advertising: NitroPay and integrated demand partners;
-
Analytics: Google Analytics;
-
Hosting/CDN/security: to deliver and protect the site.
They must follow our instructions and can’t use the data for their own purposes. We do not sell personal information for money.
8. Retention
-
Server logs: generally up to 180 days for security/troubleshooting, then deleted/anonymized.
-
Analytics/ads: per the service’s retention settings and your consent.
-
Emails you send us: kept as long as needed to respond and maintain records, then deleted when no longer necessary.
9. Your rights & regional disclosures
Global: Use Manage cookies to change consent. You may also contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to verification and applicable law.
California (CPRA): You may request to know, delete, correct, and opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where feasible. Use Manage cookies to opt out of targeted advertising cookies, or email us.
EEA/UK/Switzerland: You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, object to processing, and data portability; you also may lodge a complaint with your local authority.
Canada (PIPEDA): You may request access to and correction of personal information and withdraw consent for non-essential processing.
10. Children
Our site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child provided information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
11. International transfers
Service providers may process data in other countries (including the U.S. and EU). We take steps to ensure appropriate protections consistent with applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method is 100% secure; transmission is at your own risk.
13. Third-party links
Links to other sites are governed by those sites’ policies. Review their privacy notices.
14. Changes
We may update this Policy; we’ll post changes here and update the Last updated date.
